WHO WE ARE

Vertigo research laboratories limited is a full service rigging and consulting company serving the entertainment industry. Found by Mongo Andrews in 1984 on the east coast of Canada. We have been serving the entertainment industry in Canada and the United States for over 25 years.

The company provides a wide variety of rigging and safety services. These services include, design, installation, maintenance, inspections, risk assessment, as well as training.Our senior riggers are ETCP certified in arena and theatre rigging. Our senior trainer Mongo Andrews is an ETCP recognized trainer.
Mongo Andrews has been rigging in the entertainment industry for over 25 years.

Mongo started working in the theatre in the 70’s and moved in touring with the rock shows in the 80’s and 90’s. He started rigging for the film industry in the mid 90’s and also spent many stunt rigging for television and motion pictures. He toured with Cirque Du Soleil as an acrobatic winch operator and human rigger.

In 2009 he was invited by the cultural Human resources council of Canada, to be a part of an expert working group to develop a competency profile and recommend skill for riggers.

Mongo became ETCP certified rigger in both arena and theatre in 2005 and has been an ETCP recognized trainer since 2007. He has been teaching and entertainment rigging for over 10 years.

OUR RECENT WORK

Mongo also certified CM hoist technician, level III high angle rescue technician and a certified high angle rescue instructor, and fall protection instructor. Currently working primarily in the film industry his rigging credits include, “Cinderella Man”, “Hair spray”, “Red Saw”, and “The thing”.

He has been a stunt rigger on many commercials and film productions most recently, “Resident Evil IV ” , and “ Saw IV”.

When not working on a film, he keeps himself busy with his chain and hoist company, M4 Motor Shop as the owner and head motor mechanic.

He keeps current with new innovations in the field of rigging and still makes time to share his knowledge with those who want to learn.
